Dataset: Mean water temperature at sentinel cages in Rock Creek

Project: Analysis of Epidemiological Data for Whirling Disease in the Rock Creek (Montana) Drainage: 1998-2003

Dataset Abstract: Summary of mean daily water temperatures (Fahrenheit) during the 10-day period when sentinel rainbow trout were in cages in the Rock Creek (MT) drainage. Data from each year are summarized on a single worksheet (1998-2003).
Significance of Results: Other studies indicated relationship between water temperature and disease severity. These data did not support those claims; there was no strict correlation between disease severity and temperature. All combinations of increase/decrease in water temperature and disease severity Overall, water temperature alone cannot account for changes in disease severity.
Utility to Researchers: These data would be most useful for looking at temperature changes at an individual sentinel cage site (during exposure period).
