Dataset: M. cerebralis Infection in Adult Chinook Salmon

Project: Evaluation of Management Actions to Control the Spread of Myxobolus cerebralis in a Lower Columbia River Tributary

Dataset Abstract: Results of assay for M. cerebralis myxospores by digest and PCR of adult Chinook salmon recovered in the Clackamas River basin.
Significance of Results: This data supported the hypothesis that M. cerebralis was a new invader to the Clackamas River system.
Relevance to Managers: The monitoring indicates that the parasite had not become widely established inthe Clackamas River system.
Utility to Researchers: The outcomes of this study will also contribute to the development of risk assessment recommendations that are currently being developed for M. cerebralis within the Willamette River, downstream.
