Dataset: Oligochaete Sampling in Clear Creek (OR)

Project: Evaluation of Management Actions to Control the Spread of Myxobolus cerebralis in a Lower Columbia River Tributary

Dataset Abstract: Results of oligochaete sampling at locations in Clear Creek between 2002-2005.
Significance of Results: This provides baseline data on oligochaete population composition in Clear Creek. It provides support for the hypothesis that establisment of M. cerebralis was likely limited to the hatchery.
Relevance to Managers: The monitoring indicates that the parasite had not become widely established inthe Clackamas River system, in part, because T. tubifex populations are limited.
Utility to Researchers: The outcomes of this study support ODFW management plan development and will also contribute to risk assessment recommendations that are currently being developed for M. cerebralis within the Willamette River, downstream.
Questions Generated: Why are T. tubifex in low abundance in this system?
