Project Detail
Project: A Study to Determine the Effects of Fish Size and Release Location on the Survival of Rainbow Trout Oncorhynchus mykiss Fingerlings Stocked in the Colorado River Drainage
Primary Investigator: R. Barry NehringProject Summary: Rainbow trout fingerlings of two sizes were stocked into three reaches of the Colorado and Williams Fork Rivers, then sampled by electrofishing over the next year and a half. The objective was to learn what size of fingerling survives best in waters of different whirling disease infectivity. Fingerling survival was not clearly correlated with infectivity, but the investigators were able to define the best size class for stocking.
